Know Your Track Day Flags

Below are the flags you’re likely to see when doing a track day. The event organisers will go through these flags with you during your track day briefing but here’s a run down of what they mean so you’re well prepared.

Green flag : Session Begins

Yellow flag: There has been an incident on track. NO OVERTAKING and exercise extreme caution!![]()
Yellow and red flag: Slippery fluid or debris on course. Be careful and slow right down!![]()
Red flag: Session stopped. there has been an incident so return to the pits.![]()
Black flag: You’ve been disqualified from the session and must return to the pits immediately! You will see this flag when you have been riding dangerously or if there is something wrong with your bike that is causing a hazard i.e. you’re leaking oil.![]()
White flag: One lap left in session.![]()
Checkered flag: Finish end of session, bring bike to safe speed and return to the pits..




Not forgetting of course the pink flag:- “You’re riding like a pansy”
