Mat Mladin to WSB?
Ever since Ben Spies entered the World Superbike championship, all eyes have been on his former teammate at Yoshimura Suzuki, Mat Mladin. The 7-time AMA Superbike champion initially decided to stay in the US, but his disillusionment with the way the DMG – the rights holders for AMA Superbikes – was running the series became more and more prominent, and he eventually announced his retirement from racing at the end of July 2009.
Monza Rally Show 2009 – Rossi Leads Friday’s Opening Two Tests
The Skoda Fabia of Piero Longhi (with Luca Cassol as co-driver) was the car which started the 30° edition of the Monza Rally Show, the rally event which has been running since 1978. Five more stages will be competed today, while the last two stages will take place on Sunday morning. On Sunday, from 2 p.m., the “Master Show”, spectacular knockout stage, will be run on a track built along the start/finish straight.
Rossi 3rd in Ferrari at Vallelunga 6 Hours
Valentino Rossi takes third place in the GT3 class, as he participates in the 19th edition of the 6 Hours of Vallelunga in a team with Andrea Ceccato and Alessio Salucci.
Niccolo Canepa Switches To Moto2
Niccolo Canepa had a very tough rookie year in MotoGP. The Italian joined the Pramac Ducati team after a year as Ducati’s test rider, having won the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup a year before. But once he made the switch from test rider to MotoGP rider, he has struggled badly, circulating close to the back of the field for much of the season. So it was no surprise that the likable Italian lost his MotoGP ride at the end of the 2009 season.
Valentino Rossi to race Ferrari at Vallelunga
Reigning seven time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi will drive a Ferrari 430 sporstcar in this weekend’s Vallelunga 6 Hours endurance race.
Donington Park Circuit Enters Administration
Donington Ventures Leisure Limited – the company that holds the lease to operate Donington Park – entered administration, it was announced on the Donington Park website today. The announcement came as the latest in the long saga of financial woes which started after DVLL was awarded a 17 year contract to host the British Formula One Grand Prix last year. That plan required raising a staggering 135 million pounds sterling, an ambitious prospect at the best of times, but nigh on impossible in the financial crisis which has engulfed the world since the contract was awarded. The failure of the debenture plan announced some three weeks ago, and the company’s future has been in doubt since them.

Davide Tardozzi quits WSB
Davide Tardozzi, factory Ducati World Superbike racing manager has resigned. Tardozzi has worked with Ducati for nearly 20 years and has won championships wtih Carl Fogarty, James Toseland, Neil Hodgson and Troy Bayliss.

This is what Ben Spies’ Yamaha M1 will look like this weekend at the Valencia Grand Prix. His M1 will carry the same title sposnor as his World Superbike Championship winning R1, Sterilgarda.
Shinya Nakano Announces His Retirement
World Superbikes, Shinya Nakano has announced his retirment from racing. Nakano arrived to The championship in 2009 riding the Aprilia RSV alongside Max Biaggi after 10 years in world championship grand prix racing.
